Maquoketa Middle School
Student Council will be sponsoring a Food Drive from November 10th through November 21st. Drop off of food items will be at the beginning of each day in the cafeteria. Students will need to give their donation to Mrs. Ferguson and receive a stamp showing your donated. Following is a list of activities. If anyone has any questions please see Mrs. Ferguson.
Thursday, November 20th there will be a drawing for two movie passes. Students may put their name in ONE time for a $1 donation or a donation of a canned good item.
Calling all DJ’s……We want YOU, our Middle School students to DJ our dance! Please come and see Mrs. Ferguson if you are interested in being one of three DJ’s. You will need to get together a playlist of songs totaling 30 minutes of music to be approved (no inappropriate content or language). The dance will be held on December 5th from 3:30-5:30 in the cafeteria.
There will be a Middle School dance on December 5th in the cafeteria. Cost is $3.00 to get in and we will have cookies/bars, etc. for sale during the dance. Come support your student DJ’s and make your vote count for the best DJ at the end of the dance. See Mrs. Ferguson if you have questions.
Mrs. Ferguson is beginning to take auditions for the Talent Show. So, if you have a special talent that you would like to share please come and see me to schedule your time now! Talent Show will be held on December 19th.
Yearbook forms are now in the office and in Mrs. Ferguson’s room. One exciting change taking place this year is that the Yearbook will be in CO LO R!! Yearbooks must be pre-ordered and cost is $17.50. Order forms and payment must be turned into the office by February 19th, 2015.
Middle School Staff and Parents: I am looking for chaperone’s for the Middle School dance that will be held on December 5th from 3:30-5:30. If you would be willing to chaperone all or part of the time please contact Mrs. Ferguson.
Bring out those UGLY SWEATERS!! There will be an Ugly Sweater Contest held on December 19th. Prizes will be given for the UGLIEST sweater in 6th , 7th and 8th grades and the UGLIEST sweater for a staff member. Names will be announced during the Talent Show.
If your child is involved in sports or fine arts, please get in the habit of going to the WaMac Conference website to check on upcoming events. Tom Gruenwald, 7-12 activities director, update this site regularly. This site also give the addresses of the opponents school. Bookmark it and check it. Website is: wamacconference.org. We also have User Guides for anyone interested.
THIS YEAR’S 7th GRADERS DOCUMENTATION OF THE Tdap VACCINE ON THE CERTIFICATE OF IMMUNIZATION WILL NEED TO BE PROVIDED TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL NURSE PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF SCHOOL THIS YEAR OR ENROLLMENT CAN BE DENIED ACCORDING TO THE IOWA LAW.
