“B” Day

STUDENTS:
Student Council are selling t-shirts to help raise money for the Young family who’s son, Dakota was diagnosed with Leukemia this past July. Shirts are $12 and order forms can be picked up at any of the schools or email Mrs. Ferguson and request an electronic order form. (sferguson@maquoketa.k12.ia.us)
Student Council will be kicking off our Pennies for Patients collections for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on Monday, November 9th. Our goal as a school is $500. We have a way for everyone to participate!
Monday, November 9th-12th we will be putting Mrs. Snell in jail during lunch. Bail will be set at $25. Stay tuned to see who we put in jail November 13th-16th!
November 13th will be HAT DAY!! Pay $1.00 to wear your hat for the day. Mrs. Ferguson will be in the cafeteria before school beginning at 7:50 to collect money.
Anyone still interested in joining Student Council please see Mrs. Ferguson.
Maquoketa Girls Basketball items are available to be ordered online this year. The flyers are posted around school and will also be available in the Middle School office. The ordering deadline will be November 1st.
Maquoketa Middle School Yearbooks are now for sale. Yearbooks are once again in color and are $17.50. Forms are in the office or in Mrs. Ferguson’s room. Forms need to be turned in by March 11th.

Maquoketa Athletic Boosters Basketball Tournament Fundraiser
In addition to working, we are requesting donations from members of each athletic team at our school. Remember that the money raised is given to all athletic programs. We will post this list in the cafeteria for the students, and I have included a copy below for your reference:
Donations
Girls Basketball (all levels) – Scotch-a-roos or puppy chow. Wrapped or bagged in individual servings. Dropped off on 11/13 for Boys Tournament. We will be at the High School from 3:30 – 6:00 to accept baked goods.
Boys Basketball (all levels) – 1 6pk of 16.9 ounce bottles of Mt. Dew
Cross Country – 1 6pk of 16.9 ounce bottles of Pepsi
Football (all levels) – 1 8pk of (Blue or Red) 20 ounce bottles of Gatorade or Powerade
Boys Track – 1 6pk of 16.9 ounce bottles of Diet Mt. Dew
Girls Track – 1 6pk of 16.9 ounce bottles of Pepsi
Volleyball (all levels) – Scotch-a-roos or puppy chow. Wrapped or bagged in individual servings. Dropped off on 11/6 for Girls Tournament. We will be at the High School from 3:30 – 6:00 to accept baked goods.
Wrestling – 1 6pk of 16.9 ounce bottles of Diet Pepsi
All Beverage donations should be dropped off in Mr. Gruenwald’s office or before October 28th. These donations will be used at 3 tournament dates, with approximately 90 teams in participating. It is important to have these donations by this date, so volunteers can shop for items that are still needed.
