“B” Day
STUDENTS:
The Maquoketa Middle School Girls Basketball Team is participating in a fundraiser for cancer research called Rebounds For Research.  On Friday December 12th, we will be tracking the number of rebounds the teams get throughout the game(s) and are asking the girls to gather pledges from friends and family for a dollar amount per rebound (or specific donation amount).  The Players will have the opportunity to give something back and empower themselves.  The more rebounds they grab, the bigger the donation for cancer research!  ANYTHING we can raise to support finding a cure for this disease is one step in the right direction!  If you would like to pledge, please contact the school or any girls basketball player.
The Middle School Spelling Bee is fast approaching. The interested students (48 of them – largest so far) have been given study sheets and hopefully have been studying. The Bee will be held during Zero Hour on Wednesday, Dec. 17th. The top 4 spellers will advance to the Sectional Spelling Bee in Dubuque at Clarke University on Jan. 6th OR Jan. 22nd. Good Luck to ALL!
Any 7th grade boy interested in playing basketball this year should attend an informational meeting on Monday, December 15th after school from 3:30-4:00 in Mr. Fuss’s room (Room 34).
Yearbook forms are now in the office and in Mrs. Ferguson’s room. One exciting change taking place this year is that the Yearbook will be in CO LO R!!  Yearbooks must be pre-ordered and cost is $17.50. Order forms and payment must be turned into the office by February 19th, 2015.
Bring out those UGLY SWEATERS!!  There will be an Ugly Sweater Contest held on December 19th. Prizes will be given for the UGLIEST sweater in 6th , 7th and 8th grades and the UGLIEST sweater for a staff member. Names will be announced during the Talent Show.
