“B” Day
STUDENTS:
UW-Platteville – College of Engineering is sponsoring a day called Dreaming of the Sky for any interested girls from grades 6-8 .  Learn about the exciting career opportunities that are available for women interested in STEM. The hands-on, interactive career sessions will give you some ideas for exploring careers that involve problem solving and experimentation, putting things together and taking them apart, and using what you learn in your studies of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Plus, it is lots of fun! If interested – see Mrs. Kopp, Mrs. Hingtgen, Mrs. Willimack, or Mrs. Wold for more information and forms. Registration closes on Feb. 28th. The date is Sat., March 8th from 8:30 – 3:00.
Anyone that made the first trimester honor roll could stop in the office and pick up a free student ticket for BLADES FOR GRADES Mallard game on Saturday March 1st at 7:05.  Duck Dynasty’s  Mountain Man will be making a guest appearance.  Please stop in the office if you would be a able to attend and would like a ticket.
Maquoketa High School will be hosting a Hometown Soccer Clinic on Thursday, February 27, and Friday, February 28, in the Old Gym.  The Men’s Soccer coaching staff from Wartburg College will spend a total of three hours each day working with area boys and girls in grades 7 thru 12.  Please see the attached forms on the Maquoketa High School Athletic website for more details.  Registration can also be submitted online at the Wartburg Soccer website. Fee is $20 prior to February 20th, $25 up to the first day of the camp.
I strongly encourage all current MCHS soccer players to attend this clinic.  In addition, all those who are interested in playing this year or in the future are welcome to participate.  This is a great opportunity to receive collegiate level instruction prior to the beginning of the season.  I had the pleasure of playing three years of college soccer with a number of current Wartburg Soccer staff members, and can personally vouch for their skill in playing soccer and their knowledge in coaching soccer.- Coach Kober
If you are in preschool through 8th grade we have the YMCA 2014 Spring soccer forms in the office.  Registration is until March 6th.
