“A” Day
STUDENTS:

On April 1st Student Council will be sponsoring a HAT DAY to help raise money for our Carnival in May. Help us earn the money we need to rent a DUNK TANK…..yes, I said DUNK TANK (who wouldn’t want to dunk their teacher), a snow cone machine and a Twister…….a person who makes animals and other objects out of balloons. Cost is $1 to wear your hat. Mrs. Ferguson will be in the cafeteria that morning from 7:55-8:10 to give you a stamp and collect your donation.   If you have questions please see Mrs. Ferguson room 37.
High School Soccer T-Shirt Order forms are now available in the office.  They must be returned to the office with payment no later than Friday, April 3.
Do you think you have what it takes to be a cheerleader?  Are you full of spirit and positive energy?  Cheer tryouts will be a little different this year than in the past.  We will have practices to lead up to the tryouts.  Practices will be held March 23-March 27 starting at 3:45 and going to until 4:45. These practices are not required, but they will  earn you bonus points tryouts as well as focus on the items you need to know. The final tryouts will be held on March 28th from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  If interested please stop in the office and pick up a form.
We have extended our Yearbook sales!  You may still purchase your yearbook for $17.50 now through March 20th. Forms are in Mrs. Ferguson’s room or the school office.
March is Music in Your Schools Month!   Consider donating to our vocal music department to help pay for our new piano.  We recently purchased a Yamaha from Foster’s music.  The school paid $2500.00 and we are trying to raise $3000.00 by June.  Any amount you would like to contribute would be greatly appreciated.  Please contribute in the main office and let them know it is for the piano fund.  We will place your name on the keyboard of donors.  If you have any questions see or call Dean Wiese.
Again, your support would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for considering this important contribution to our Middle School.

ITEC (Iowa Technology Education Connection) offers tech fairs to students K-12. It’s an opportunity to showcase technology-based projects created as part of their instructional curriculum or on their own. There are several project categories to choose from:  3-D Rendering/Animation, Graphics/Publishing, Innovative Technology Use, Mobile Apps, Music & Sound Design, Programming, Video Presentation, and Web Presence. Several students have participated in this event and LOVED the experience. Austin Sanders’ project was featured at the ITEC conference for Iowa teachers and Technology professionals. The Eastern Fair in on Tuesday, May 5th in Cedar Rapids. If you are interested in this event, please see your Technology (Computer) or TaG teachers.
PARENTS:
The Be a CARD Auction is scheduled for April 1st. We are looking to provide as many great prizes for the students to bid on using their CARDS as possible.  If anyone has something that they are willing to donate to the auction, please contact the office or one of the members of the PBIS team.  We thank you for anything that you can do to help us reward the positive behaviors at MMS.
If your student is going to be gone on a school activity trip only they need to come to the office and pick up a “Golden Ticket” to be filled out by you and your child.  Your student needs to get assignments they will be missing and turn back into the office when completed.  The sheet must be completed before the day they miss.
