CONGRATULATIONS all around to our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students who performed at Saturday’s NEIBA Solo & Ensemble Festival held here in Maquoketa. Here are the results of the festival. Out of 70 events…
58 received “Superior” ratings (83% of all events)
26 received “Excellent” ratings (17% of all events)
Of the 58 events that received “Superior” ratings, 9 received the additional
distinction of being rated “Highly Superior.” These were the outstanding
performances of the day. They included Brielle Hahn, Briana Tranel,
Jocelynn Haley, Danielle Dadisman, Dalen Acton, Leslie Connolly and Nell Sybesma (duet), Madison Hagemann, Kadie Collins, and Daniel Coyle.
Not only is this a tremendous improvement over last year when 54% of our
entries received “Superior” ratings, but it is very close to our all-time high of 86%. CONGRATULATIONS BANDS!
The 7th grade would like to invite you to join us in our exploration of the world. The 7th Grade culture fair will be on April 10th from 2:30-3:20 in the cafeteria. This event will be open to all, and the 7th grade students will be displaying their projects as well as selling samples of traditional foods and drinks from their countries.
On April 1st Student Council will be sponsoring a HAT DAY to help raise money for our Carnival in May. Help us earn the money we need to rent a DUNK TANK…..yes, I said DUNK TANK (who wouldn’t want to dunk their teacher), a snow cone machine and a Twister…….a person who makes animals and other objects out of balloons. Cost is $1 to wear your hat. Mrs. Ferguson will be in the cafeteria that morning from 7:55-8:10 to give you a stamp and collect your donation. If you have questions please see Mrs. Ferguson room 37.
High School Soccer T-Shirt Order forms are now available in the office. They must be returned to the office with payment no later than Friday, April 3.
