Maquoketa Community School District to launch Envisioning Our Students’ Future Survey
Community input to help shape district goals, strategies
— Maquoketa Community School District is asking community members, parents, staff and high school students to participate in an Envisioning Our Students’ Future Survey to be launched during the week of November 4th. The survey will address topics such as 21st century skills, Iowa Core Standards and measures of success in public education. The results will inform district goals and strategies that prepare students for future success.
Designed and administered by independent technology and communications firm K12 Insight, the survey is a joint project of several districts within Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency.
“We’re preparing our students for a world that’s changing,” said Maquoketa CSD Superintendent Kim Huckstadt. “Gathering input from everyone involved is the best way to move forward.”
To participate in the survey, community members are invited to visit the district’s website at http://www.maquoketa.k12.ia.us and access the public link. District staff and parents whose email addresses are on file will receive invitations. Students in grades 9 – 12 will have access to the survey at school. Community members without Internet access may visit any school office for assistance.
All groups are encouraged to participate early. Responses will be anonymous and confidential to ensure candid feedback, which is vital to the survey’s success.
“Together, we can shape the future of public education in Maquoketa,” said Huckstadt.
Once the survey has closed on Tuesday, November 26, the district will report the results and continue the conversation about envisioning — and encouraging — students’ future success.
