“B” Day

Students:

Flute Ensemble will meet today during “Zero” period. New members are invited!
Clarinet Choir will meet tomorrow during “Zero” period.
Saxophone Band will meet on Thursday.
Brass Choir will meet on Friday.
No Jazz Band this week.

Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship will be taking place Sunday January 13th from 1-2pm. Location will be the Maquoketa YMCA. Forms are available in the office.

Yearbook form are now available in the office. They need to be pre-ordered and the cost is $17.50.

There will be weights at the HS for any 8th graders that are interested on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays after school hours.
2019 Optimist Essay contest is open to any student grades 6 – 8. This years topic is: “When All the World’s Problems are Solved, is Optimism Still Necessary?” Students may pick up an application from their Literacy teacher, Mrs. Wold or the office. The contest deadline this year will be Friday, Jan 18th. All entries will be picked up at the office after 3 pm that day. Local prizes are $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place. If you win and go onto District, the prize is $2500 scholarship. Who wouldn’t want to earn some cash for their writing skills.

Pioneering Your Future in STEM is for girls grades 6 – 8. This is a one day event to explore different STEM disciplines through hands-on activities. The date we are going is: Tuesday, March 26th. This event costs $25 (before Tuesday, March 12) and includes breakfast and lunch. Students may pick up a flyer from their Science teachers, Mrs. Wold or the office. This is a fun day of learning for all!
