Maquoketa Middle School

Daily Announcements

Thursday, March 10

“A” Day

STUDENTS:

The Flashlight Team will meet today (Thursday, March 10) during A lunch in the art room.
There will be a track sign up meeting for all 7th and 8th grade boys and girls interested in track this year on Thursday, March 17th at 750 am in the gym. You will need a physical and concussion form in the office in order to participate. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mrs. Cavanagh or Mr. Miller at the Middle School for information
The Maquoketa Cardinal Soccer camp is an opportunity to learn and improve on skills (dribbling, passing, and shooting) while having fun playing the game of soccer!  Regardless of the experience or knowledge of soccer, all players are welcome! Players will also get to play in a game where parents/guardians are welcome to come and watch, along with receiving an official Cardinal Soccer T-Shirt! Forms are available in the office!

A few reminders as we head into the 4th quarter:

-No beverages other than water are permitted in school. Please finish your gatorade, coffee drinks, etc. before going into the building.

-Smart watches are tech devices, and super great tools, but do not text/call on them at school. This will result in a cell phone violation as described in the handbook.

-Hoods and hats off in school, we like to see your smiling faces!

12 year olds or younger interested in playing soccer through the Y, registration is open until March 14. Stop by the office or Y for additional information.

Yearbooks are able to be ordered! This year ordering is all online. To order, visit Lifetouch Yearbook Website and enter code 12874322 to order a Maquoketa Middle School yearbook. They are starting at $18. The deadline is March 18, 2022. (Mr Van Horn’s Birthday)

Like to paint, draw, or color? Use that creativity and create a poster for the Jackson Soil & Water Conservation District. This year’s theme is “Healthy Soil Healthy Life” and must be on the poster. For more information please see your science teacher or Mrs. Sampica. 1st Place winners receive $15, 2nd receives $10 with possible additional prizes if selected for the state level. Posters are due by April 29.

Leader in Me Focus: This week, look around and notice how much synergy is going on around you, such as two hands working together, teamwork, symbiotic relationships in nature, and creative problem solving.
