“B” Day
CONGRATULATIONS to all the Maquoketa Middle School band students for representing our school so well at yesterday’s Large Group Festival at DeWitt Central High School, and sponsored by the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association. Both bands earned “Superior” ratings for their performances. The 6th grade band earned the additional distinction of earning a “Superior +” rating which is a first for a Maquoketa 6th grade band. The 7th+8th grade band’s “Superior” rating continues the streak started back in 1981. The judges praised both bands for their musical sensitivity and rich, well-blended sounds. Way to go bands!
Camp Wyoming flyers are being passed out this week, if you need another copy, we have more in the office.
Dance Marathon is Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at the Maquoketa High School from 5-10pm. This event brings our community together to dance for those who can’t, share the touching stories of our honored kids, and raise money to support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital! Admission is $5 and you must be accompanied by an adult. Please be respectful at this event!
If you are interested in creating a poster for the Jackson Soil & Water Conservation District, please see your science teacher for information. This year’s theme/title is “One Water”. Posters are due April 14.
