STUDENTS:

Any 8th grade student interested in football cheer should attend tryouts on Saturday,  May 13. Tryouts start at 8 a.m. and will end at noon. Please contact April Edwards at the high school if you would like more information or cannot attend.

The Maquoketa Athletic Boosters would like you to consider volunteering your time at one, or more of the shifts available at this summers baseball/softball concessions.  Last year our club profited almost $9000 from these concessions alone, and it isn’t possible without the help of our athletes’ families.  Our club generously provides for our athletes every year and we could really use your help.  Please click on the link and sign up for shift/s you are available for.  Thank you in advance for all you do for our athletes.  If you have any questions please feel free to email Sheila Pauls at spauls1020@hotmail.com and she can assist you in signing up.

The Community Service Squad is hosting a Penny War starting on Monday, May 1st and it will go until the 16th. Bring in any spare change to your lunch shift to help raise money for Jackson County Humane Society.

Rules to the Penny Wars are:

Pennies are positive for your grade

Any silver coin is a negative for other grades, so if you drop a quarter into a different grade’s bucket, that would take 25 points off that grade’s total

At the end of the day on May 16th, all points will be tallied and the winning grade will have a popsicle party sometime that week!

So start saving your change!

Sign up for Miles for Maizie to benefit Maquoketa Kiwanis & 50 Legs! The race is this Saturday at 10am and held at the Maquoketa YMCA. You can register Online or complete the registration form and mail it to Maquoketa Kiwanis. Individual race fee is $20, and a family of 4 or more is $70. If you have any questions, contact Kathy Seyfert at (563) 343-7391.
