We have put together some resources for our families and students to use at home. If you have questions about any of these resources or are interested in more information about any topic listed below, please contact your child's counselor.
Hello! My name is Chloe Meisner and I am the school counselor at Cardinal Elementary in Maquoketa. It is my 4th year as a school counselor and I love it! My students are the best and I look forward to helping them learn and grow every day. I live in Peosta, IA with my husband, Blake and my daughters, Aida and Everly. I enjoy reading, camping, and spending time outside with family.
In 2015 I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology with an endorsement in Special Education from Clarke University. In 2018, I graduated with my Master’s in School Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. I continue to learn and grow by participating in online professional development on a regular basis.
Much of my job is spent directly working with students. The rest focuses on program foundation, management, and accountability based on the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) standards. I also help support teachers and work with parents and other resources in the community.
I teach weekly lessons to each classroom that focus on social-emotional topics including feelings, problem-solving, self-regulation, and more! I also incorporate lessons on goal setting, career, self-esteem, and many other topics! Last year, we began incorporating Leader in Me philosophies in our daily teaching.
When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me holding small groups, meeting with individual students, communicating and collaborating with parents and community members, participating in professional development, and even playing out at recess. I love building relationships with students and families and love being visible in and outside of school!
My goal is to support you and your children in any way I can! Please contact me with any questions/concerns.
