We offer over 150 courses; a wide variety of athletic, musical, dramatic, and extracurricular opportunities; and a staff of dedicated professionals. We are eager to develop our young people and provide direction for their lives while they are attending our school.

Because of the ever-changing needs of our students, we are constantly looking for ways to improve instruction. We want our students to continue their education after they graduate and to perform well in college, universities, and technical schools. We strive to support student efforts in every way we possibly can.

Maquoketa High School is proud of its tradition in education. It is our goal to prepare students for the challenges that lie ahead in their lives. It is our privilege to serve the students of our community.

Once again, welcome to Maquoketa Community High School. Go Cardinals!!

My name is Keith Kohl, and I am honored to serve the Maquoketa community as the Assistant Principal of Maquoketa High School. Throughout my career in education, I have had the opportunity to serve as an activities director, science and at-risk teacher, and athletic coach in both the Dubuque Community School District and Osage Community School District. These experiences have shaped my belief in the importance of building strong relationships and supporting the whole student.

I am a student-centered leader who is committed to ensuring all learners are supported while maintaining high expectations. I strongly believe in the core values of Respect, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement as the foundation for a positive and successful school culture.

Maquoketa High School offers many unique opportunities for students, and I am excited to contribute to creating meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for success both during and beyond their time here.
