MHS Senior:

We hope that this letter finds you healthy and safe.  As you know, we are living in an unprecedented time. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we live our daily lives.  We are touching base with you on information that is vital as a senior at Maquoketa High School.

Graduating is an important milestone.  As a district we want to make sure that we do the best that we can to honor your accomplishment.  We are rescheduling commencement to Sunday, July 19, 2020.  At this point, we are uncertain as to what our guidelines from the State of Iowa will be for social distancing and gatherings in the month of July.  Our goal is to have the traditional commencement exercise in our gym on the 19th.  If, due to restrictions, we are not able to have the traditional commencement we will have an alternative celebration on the 19th.

To continue our communication, we will have a senior meeting on May 6th at 4:00 P.M.   You will receive a Zoom invitation through your school email.  We will cover information related to graduation, returning of materials, outstanding bills, how to receive your cap and gown, etc.

We hope that May 6th works for you to attend the Zoom meeting at 4:00.  If not, a reminder that the meeting will be recorded and available on the district web site.

Please email us with any questions.
