homecoming

We are looking forward to celebrating Homecoming 2025 with a full day of school spirit and community pride on Friday, October 3rd! While there are a few changes to how we’ll celebrate this year, we’re excited to build on our traditions and bring students together in new ways.

Morning Pep Rally – A New Tradition!

This year, we’re kicking off the day with our pep rally at 10:00 a.m. in the High School Gym. For the first time, Cardinal and Briggs elementary students will join high schoolers at this energizing event. We can’t wait for our younger Cardinals to experience the fun and spirit of Homecoming up close during the pep rally! Middle school students will continue to celebrate with their own homecoming activities on-site.

Homecoming Parade – What’s New This Year?

Due to our early dismissal schedule on Fridays, Maquoketa students will not attend the parade with their class or school building this year. Instead, if your child would like to attend the parade, families must arrange transportation and supervision. The parade will begin at 2:00 pm at the Middle School and will travel down Main Street.

We recognize this is a change from past years and appreciate your understanding as we adjust to our Friday early dismissal schedule. Our goal is to ensure that all students are safe, supervised, and able to enjoy the festivities.

Thank You,

Tara Notz , Superintendent, MCSD
