The student senate sponsored food drive will begin on Monday, November 17 and last until Friday, November 21. We are asking for non-expired canned goods and boxed food that will be donated for the high school backpack program to be brought to Mrs. Raker's classroom (113). This will be a GST competition.

Volleyball players had their year-end banquet last night. Congratulations to our senior captains as well as our three all conference award winners!

Mrs. Manthei and students attended the BPA Fall Leadership Conference the last 2 days in Des Moines. Students attended break out sessions, networked with other students, participated in service learning activities, visited with reps at the college fair and participated in the JA 60 in 60 challenge, where the Maquoketa team placed in the top 10 and presented their pitch to the whole group!! This was a great kick off to get energized for state competition in February!!

HOSA members sponsored their fall blood drive today at the high school.

Health Science students spent some time learning about diseases/disorders of the integumentary, skeletal and muscular system. Students created posters to display their research.

Ainsley Munson, MIA Reicks, and Sam Kress successfully auditioned to participate in the 2025 Iowa All-State Music Festival. Ainsley and Mia will play in the band and Sam will play in the Orchestra. Congratulations All-State musicians!

Congratulations to Chloe Leon and Daniel Hagen on being accepted inot the 2025 All-State Chorus. This is Chloe's 3rd year as an all-stater and this is Daniel's first year to be accepted! Way to go!

Intro to Health Career students had two more opportunities to hear from local healthcare professionals about their careers and answer any questions the students had. A big thank you to Kayla Hopson and Dr. Brent Pauls for taking their time to come spend a class with us!

Cardinals fought a hard battle against Wilton but came up a little short. A lot of fight in these ladies 🏐

Last week, a couple students toured St. Ambrose University. They met with admissions to learn what SAU has to offer, including scholarship opportunities, majors, and campus life. They also took a tour of campus to see a dorm room and other campus amenities.

I would like to introduce my student ambassadors for this school year, Maraya Downey and Kennedy Eggers!
Maraya and Kennedy are available to help any students who are currently registered in CCC classes or if you'd like to learn more about taking college classes. You might see them around with me doing presentations, setting up information tables, and more. See the attached flyers to learn more about Maraya and Kennedy and their experience with taking college classes while in high school.
