
6th grade Social Studies classes held an Ancient Maya Culture Fair today after school. Students researched a topic. They wrote paragraphs about the claim, evidence, and reasoning. Then they created a slideshow, tri-fold board, and a craft or activity for guests. They did a great job!









Our 7th/8th grade Medical Detective class can't wait to keep labeling and dissecting their sheep brains this week!




JOI Club (formerly known as Community Service Squad) helped clean up some of the tree limbs after the storm.

The 8th grade Sprint Medley team of Millie Wing, Jensyn Johnson, Ryley Galloway and Natalie Hackman broke their own record from earleir in the season tonight at the RVC North Conference Meet at Northeast with a time of 2:03.15. They also broke the RVC North girls conference record held by Cascade that was set in 2016. The previous record was 2:08.78. Way to go, ladies!


Thank you to all that came out and enjoyed our middle school band concert this evening. They made beautiful music!




Great day for 7th grade to take their learning outside to Lakehurst Dam, here in Maquoketa, Ia. We participated in 5 different learning outdoor classrooms! Thank you to all the volunteers, MMS staff, the Hurstville Interpretive Center, and World Renewable Energy! Great day!




Maquoketa Track and Band Families,
The Conference Track meet has been moved to Friday, May 3rd starting at 11:00 am at Monticello. This is due to the anticipated weather for Thursday evening. This has been schedule during the day to allow all band students to attend Conference Track and any students who are participating in Large Group Band and Vocal Contests in the evening.

MMS community service squad is busy making dog toys out of old tshirts! We will be donating them to humane societies when finished!

Happy School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Thank You to all of our bus drivers at Maquoketa CSD for transporting our students safely to school and home each day! You are such an important part of our students' school experience and you make a positive difference in our community!


Natalie Hackman broke the 8th grade girls 1500m run record at Northeast last week with a time of 5:17.12. The record was previously held by Izzy Hardin with a time of 5:24.15. Congratulations, Natalie!


We had the pleasure of hearing Maizie Hosch discuss the Miles for Maizie run/walk to her peers at the middle school. It takes a lot of courage to speak in front of peers and Maizie did a great job!





The 8th grade girls Distance Medley team of Millie Wing, Ryley Galloway, Riley Buttz and Natalie Hackman set a new 8th grade record last Friday at Northeast with a time of 4:47.44. The previous record of 4:55.04 was held by Anna Hardison, CJ Yeager, Tenley Cavanagh and Addie Michel. Congratulations ladies!
