Some of our 6th grade band students helped recruit the current 5th graders at Briggs to join band! They all showed off their instruments and played a short piece for each class. They had a great time performing and received many compliments from everyone!

Our students represented our school with incredible talent at the River Valley Conference Vocal Festival today! 🎤✨ It's amazing to see their hard work and passion pay off. What was your favorite moment from the festival?

What a great concert put on by Maquoketa middle school and high school choir students. Over 300 students from the River Valley Conference performed a variety of uplifting music tonight in Bellevue! This included the debut of "Go Forth" written by one of our very own conference directors, Julie Thomas from Tipton High School. Great kids, great music, great day!

Hallway Huddles at the middle school are a great way for students to get to know other grade levels! 6th and 8th grade Nests took on a Rock Paper Scissors battle this morning!

Our school has been invited to exhibit artwork from students.

Our students are diving into the world of geography and mathematics using the beautiful state of Iowa maps! 🗺️✨
In today's lesson, they are discovering how to apply scale factors to measure real distances between cities. By working with physical maps, students are enhancing their map-reading skills while understanding the importance of scale in representing real-world distances.
This hands-on activity not only strengthens their math skills but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the geography of our state! 🙌
Stay tuned for more updates on our exciting learning journey! 📚✏️ #IowaMaps #ScaleFactors #HandsOnLearning #MathInAction

Homecoming week, and all individuals are so excited it's hard to stay concentrated in the classroom, so we took math outside! This week we created coordinate grids on the pavement and then we rotated points and segments to try to decipher the secret message. Each group got one set of rotations, which unveiled a letter after all of the rotations occured. Once all students had figured out their letter, all groups put their letters together to see that they had spelled "GO CARDS" using points and segments!

Homecoming dress up days are my FAVORITE! I had so much fun participating and seeing all the students participate this week. This student made my day dressing up with a pi shirt as me!

A great start to spirit day at the middle school!

This student surprised me today for Student/Teacher swap day! Name tag, science shirt, and a smile. She nailed it! What a fun day!
