Hello Cardinal and Briggs Elementary Families,
Jackson County Conservation is a great partner to all our schools providing classroom presentations and field trips all at no cost. They are currently fundraising to celebrate 20 years at their current location. The new exhibit will help tell the story of Iowa’s natural history through a woodland diorama with plants and wildlife, a walk-through cave interpreting cave geology, and showcasing the bluffs and hill prairies of Jackson County!
The week of February 5th to February 9th we will have a Penny War. Each classroom that participates within Jackson County, will collect as much change as they can. At the end of each day schools will determine their collective total and divide that by the number of students in their building (Cardinal and Briggs will count as one building for Maquoketa). This will give us the student-money ratio. The school with the highest student-money ratio at the end of the week will receive an extra Presentation Day from Jackson County Conservation.
We hope you will all be able to join us in having some fun competition while fundraising for Jackson County Conservation’s new exhibits that will benefit our students for many years to come.
Thank you for any and all donations,
Mrs. Sara Bennis, Cardinal Elementary Principal
Mrs. Gabrielle Recker, Briggs Elementary Principal
