Maquoketa Families,
Buses will be on hard surface roads only tomorrow, January 11th. If you are a family who cannot get to the hard surface road, please contact Transportation Director Hansen in the morning and he will work to arrange alternate transportation for your student.

Maquoketa Families,
Due to the weather forecast of large snowfall amounts and increasing winds, school will be cancelled for Tuesday, January 9th.
Be Safe,

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season! ~The Briggs Elementary Staff

Mrs. Manthei took 12 HS students to Briggs to share the career dodecahedrons (12 sided ball) they created about a career of their choice with the 5th graders! The 5th graders were great listeners!

Please check out these two documents for some information regarding our Winter Recess Expectations, as well as appropriate clothing for the outdoor temperatures. Keep in mind that even when our temperatures get as warm as they are forecasted to be, like today, our mornings often begin much cooler and students remain outside until 8 AM so it's important they dress appropriately.
If your student is in need of a winter coat, our school does participate in the Coats for Kids program. Information was sent home with every student in early November but we are still able to request coats and they will fulfill requests as long as they still have supplies. Please reach out to the building, counselor, nurse, or principal for more information.

Our Lost & Found collection always seems to grow this time of year!
Notice anything familiar in these pictures? Have your student stop by the Lost & Found table outside the office to claim their item(s).
Any items remaining Dec 21st will be donated.

We'd love to have you in the audience on Thursday, Dec 14th for our Holiday Concert! Join us at the Maquoketa High School Gym; doors open at 9am & showtime is 9:30am.
If parents wish to pick their student up from the HS after the concert, they must notify the school (Briggs) no later than 2:30pm on Tues, Dec 12th. We will not allow students to leave from the HS without prior notification. Thanks!

Please read our posted news article for an update about student, Ty Hinz, and a thank you to all of those who supported and cared for him during last night's basketball game. Ty’s family would like to share that he is at home recovering and at this time is doing well.

We have several teaching and para educator positions open at Maquoketa CSD. In interested please apply at iowaworks.gov or contact building administrators for detailed information about each position.
