Today at Cardinal Elementary we celebrated our 2nd Grade Leaders for Habit 4: Think Win-Win. Congratulations to the following students...
Bryant Simmons is a leader who works hard, is a good friend to others, and does a great job of thinking Win-Win.
Maci Creger models excellent leadership in our class. She demonstrates habit 4, Think Win-Win as she considers others' thoughts and feelings first. She is selfless and often puts others' wants or needs ahead of her own. She genuinely likes to see others happy. Great job Maci! Keep being an inspiration to others!
Kamryn Kuhlman is a wonderful leader, not only in the classroom but throughout the building. She is always thinking win-win and looking to help others find the good it could be a bad situation. We are so proud of you Kamryn!
Anthony LaPage is very in tune to what is going on in the classroom. He is always contributing to classroom conversation and encourages others to be their best. Thank you for being a great leader, Anthony!

Hello Maquoketa Elementary Families,
We are only 2 days away from Movie Night at the Voy! This will also be our Literacy Night for Maquoketa Elementaries. Thanks to the Jackson County Grade Level Reading Program all students who attend will be getting a free book. Hope to see you there!

Looking ahead to tomorrow morning, temperatures are forecasted to be around -14°F at 6:00 a.m. , so we do not anticipate any delays or cancellations at this time.
Students typically remain indoors for recess when temperatures are below 0°F, but we still ask that all students come to school dressed warmly, especially those riding the bus. Having proper winter gear is important in case of any unforeseen delays.
Thank you for your continued patience and support as we navigate this early start to winter!
Superintendent Notz

We are looking forward to seeing students back in the building tomorrow and hope that you all enjoyed the holiday break! We wanted to share a reminder of the winter weather expectations for recess as students will need to have snowpants and snowboots if they want to play in the snow off the blacktop. Temperatures will be cold and students will need a winter coat, hats and mittens to stay warm outside!
Thank you for your support.
Warm regards,
Cardial and Briggs Elementary

Today at Cardinal Elementary we celebrated our Kindergarten Leaders of the Week! Congratulations to the following Leaders!
Evelyn Bollinger does an amazing of putting first things first. She gets her work done on time before she goes to reading and math work bins. Evelyn also gets all dressed for recess before she goes outside. Keep up the great work Evelyn!
Aubree Schulz has been working very hard in the last few weeks to continue to learn the routines in our classroom as well as working on academic skills! Even when things may be challenging for her, she puts first things first and gets her work done! We are so proud of you Aubree!
Harley Wagg does an amazing job when transitioning and gets to the next thing on our schedule promptly. He does a great job of completing his work before moving to our math and reading tubs. He also asks clarifying questions about his work if he fully doesn't understand it.
Payten Reuter is great at taking charge and being responsible at school. She knows what needs to be done and is always helping her peers get their work done. We are proud of Payten!
