Another Wednesday to celebrate Leadership at Cardinal Elementary! Congratulations to our First Grade Leaders of the Week and Staff Shout-Outs! See this video (https://youtu.be/VOwZRnLhJFg) of our Leadership Assembly and watch as these students earn their stickers! We are so proud of our Cardinal Leaders! Jax Johnson does a wonderful job of making sure his big rocks are completed before starting on his little rocks. He is responsible and accountable for his work and always tries his best. Good job, Jax! Brynn Bowman has made a lot of progress in the goals she has set for herself and has stuck to her commitments. She participates in activities and helps her friends when they need it. She is a kind friend in our classroom. Way to go, Brynn! Talan Till does a great job of being a leader! He follows directions the first time they're given and shows others how to do things by being a role model. He's a very good listener during Knowledge as he's always answering questions. Way to go, Talan! Matheson Nena has done an awesome job being a leader! He makes good choices and shows others how to do things. He's also a very nice helper to others. Way to go, Matheson! Kristen Ralston tries to be an example of putting first things first. She works hard on finishing her work before doing other things. Kristen is kind and is always willing to help others. Luna Bakey shows that she can be a leader with Habit 3 by putting first things first. Luna works hard on finishing her work on time at school and at home. She is kind to others and always willing to help someone who might not understand the assignment. Keira Farris exemplifies Habit 3. She stays on task, completes her work, and even helps others before taking free time for herself. Keira prioritizes the important things, taking care of those big rocks first. She also does so with a positive attitude, being a great leader and role model in our classroom! Great job, Keira! Mrs. Trusty is very dedicated and puts in a lot of hard work to make her classroom great. Her enthusiasm for learning inspires her students every day, and her support makes a significant impact on student's growth. Thank you for inspiring your students to be their best selves and for always encouraging them to try their hardest. We are so grateful to have Mrs. Trusty as a teacher at Cardinal. Miss Kaitlyn makes sure that everything is ready to go for the day; answering phone calls, getting in lunch counts, helping teachers and Mrs. Bennis. She goes above and beyond to support student needs and keep the building running efficiently. Thank you for all you do, Miss Kaitlyn!!

Hello Cardinal Elementary Families, Today at the Leadership Assembly we announced our 2nd Grade Leaders of the Week for Habit 3: Put First Things First. Congratulations to these leaders and our Staff Shout-Outs! Arizona Baker is a great leader in our classroom. She works well independently and works hard on her big rocks before completing other activities. Michael Schipper is a great leader in our classroom when he works hard and then when he finishes his work, he does his may dos. Great job Michael! Kepriel William is a hard worker and a great leader. He works on his big rocks and is a great friend to everyone. He is a good role model in the classroom and I appreciate him. Evelyn Larson has become very vocal in the best way! She has become more confident in herself and always participates during every lesson. Evelyn adds so much to our class discussions and is a joy to watch grow! Keep up the great work Evelyn! Damonie Moss has been working hard on his reading at home and has consistently returned his baggie book. As a result of reading his baggie books, Damonie's reading fluency has improved! Way to go Damonie!! Piranjay Robert is a good role model for other students to follow. He puts first things first when he gets right to work during work time. He gets his work done in a timely manner. Piranjay makes sure to do his must dos first before doing the may dos each day. Keep up the good work, Piranjay! Mrs. Neyens deserves a big shout out for coming out of retirement to teach a 2nd grade class. She is building relationships with the students. She arrives early to prepare for the day so she is ready for the students. Her willingness to go the extra mile, whether it was engaging the students in creative activities, or ensuring that her lessons were delivered smoothly, does not go unnoticed. Thank you Mrs. Neyens for your commitment to providing a positive learning environment. Your hard work truly makes a difference! Ms. Sue is an amazing support for our preschool friends and even helps to guide our second grade friends to make good choices at recess. She is very knowledgeable in supporting students as they learn sounds and how to use those sounds to make words. The relationships she builds with students and her kind, caring nature let students know that she cares about them and their success. Thank you for being a great leader, Ms. Sue!

Hello Cardinal Elementary Families, I wanted to send out a reminder about the upcoming Family Bingo Night coming up on Thursday, November 7th. There will be lots of great food and fun provided by our Cardinal Staff and Parent Lighthouse Team. We are excited to share more information about our Leader in Me Program and collaborate with families. Every student who attends will get a free stuffed animal and book with opportunities to win door prizes and family games to play at home. I'm also including a link (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdBee4Gv-06Xn2jhp204s_1VO2AyS3_B9QHQhzIbkYIjfRdgg/viewform?usp=sf_link) for the sign-up. You may also call the school and let Kaitlyn know how many will be attending and she can sign you up. I know there are several activities going on that night so if you can only make it for some of the time, that is okay too. We are planning for plenty of food and dessert! Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Warm regards, Sara Bennis Cardinal Elementary Principal
