This week we celebrated our 1st grade Leaders of the week for Habit 6: Synergize! Congratulations to the following 1st graders.

Johal Moore has been doing a good job adjusting to the routines of the classroom since joining! He has also been working hard on following directions the first time given. He works well with others and is making new friends. Way to go, Johal!

Madison Clark is great leader when it comes to synergizing with others. She is always willing to help and tries hard to be positive with every situation.

Sebastian Tobias is a kind friend and hard worker. He tries to think of solutions to problems and make everyone feel included. He is a valued member of our class family. Way to go, Sebastian!

We asked our Cardinal community for support and this community came together to make a difference! With the help of our community businesses, groups and individuals we were able to send students out to Des Moines to support our Girls Basketball team for all three games they played out at state. The community was outstanding and we are so proud of how we were able to show Des Moines just how much the Maquoketa Community supports our students and school. Thank you to each and everyone of you who donated, gave words of encouragement to our players and even all of you who made the trip our to watch our girls make history! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

History was made tonight as our Maquoketa Girls Basketball Team captured the first state title in program history. This moment belongs to our girls and coaches who have worked so hard for so many years, dreaming of this day! Congratulations, we are so proud of all of your accomplishments and absolutely love watching your talent, grit and belief that you will fight to the end! This moment also belongs to the families, students, staff and community members who have helped to pave the way. Generations of "Iowa Girls" have built the foundation for tonight. When the stars align, it reminds us of the greatness of our students, our schools and our community. Way to go girls and way to go Maquoketa. You should all be so proud of who you are, where you come from and for moments like this. I know I am!! Superintendent Notz ❤️
