A great weekend for the Cardinals at the Iowa State Track Meet at Drake Stadium. We’re proud of all of our athletes and coaches for the way they competed and represented Maquoketa on the big stage.

Girls Individual Events
• Cora Widel — 400m — 15th Place — 1:00.96
• Natalie Hackman — 800m — 7th Place — 2:15.59
• Isabel Hopson — High Jump — 11th Place — 5’-2”

Boys Individual Events
• Donavan Cook — High Jump — 15th Place — 5’-11”
• Nolan Ehlinger — Long Jump — 17th Place — 20’-3.25”
• Kyle Simmons — 100m Ambulatory State Champion — 13.87, 200m Ambulatory State Champion — 28.54, 400m Ambulatory State Champion — 1:04.9, 800m Ambulatory State Champion — 2:33.88 (New State Meet Record)

Relay Results
• Girls 1600m Sprint Medley Relay (Armbruster, Hopson, Widel, Hackman) 6th Place — 4:10.49
• Girls 4x400m Relay (Hackman, Hopson, Armbruster, Widel) 13th Place in prelims — 4:03.79

Hello Cardinal Elementary Families,

Here is our last CWNK news report for the 2025-2026 school year. We are excited to spend two more days with them next week as we have our Cardial Carnival/Cookout on Tuesday, May 26th and the Final Farewell on Wednesday, May 27th (students dismiss at 1:10 from Cardinal). It's been an amazing year full of growth and celebrations as we have learned alongside your child(ren). Thank you for your continued support throughout the year and we are excited to see them back in the fall. Have a great summer!

Maquoketa CSD is providing FREE summer breakfast & lunch to help keep our community kids fueled all summer long!

👥 Who: All kids & teens ages 18 and under (no district enrollment required). Meals must be picked up by a child, parent, or guardian.
📍 Where: Maquoketa High School Front Entrance (600 W Washington St)
⏰ When: Every Thursday from 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM , first come first serve (Each pickup includes 7 days of meals!)

🗓️ Summer Schedule:

June: 11, 18, 25

July: 9, 16, 23, 30 (No pickup July 2)

August: 6 & 13 (August 13 is a BIG pickup with 10 days of meals!)

We need your help! To help us plan, please submit the form below or call Central Office to sign up:
