Maquoketa Families, Due to icy road conditions, Maquoketa CSD will have a 2 hour delay, tomorrow, Thursday, February 6th. All morning activities and morning preschool will be cancelled. Please stay tuned for any additional weather updates.

Good morning! With today being our first Virtual Learning Day of the school year, I wanted to remind you that Virtual Learning Packets were sent home with elementary students during fall parent/teacher conferences (or shortly afterwards if you were unable to attend). These packets are in a Manila folder and have “Must Do” & “May Do” activities for students to complete, labeled Day 1 through Day 5. The “Must Do” activities are required to be returned to school and turned into your student’s teacher, where we will account for them as your student’s attendance. These must be returned to the teacher the day we return to in-person learning. If you cannot find your packet at this time, please reach out to your student’s teacher through email or Rooms for another digital version of the day’s work. School Cancelled for Tuesday, January 21st Due to our area being updated to an extreme cold warning until noon, school will be cancelled on Tuesday, January 21st. This will be our first day of Virtual Learning: Elementary Students: Please complete the "Day 1" packet sent home during conferences. Middle & High School Students: Complete assignments posted by your teachers on Canvas. If you have questions, contact your teachers via school email or through Rooms. At this time, high school basketball games and practices are still scheduled for tomorrow evening, as the weather advisory is expected to end by noon. Briggs & Cardinal Elementaries: Just a reminder that our "Twelve Days to Break" dress-up themes begin tomorrow with "Red, White, & Green Day." We can't wait to see everyone looking so festive!!

Hello Briggs Elementary Families! Please help us celebrate the spirit of the holidays with some fun dress-up days in the month of December. Students and staff are encouraged to participate in the "Twelve Days Before Christmas Break" by following along with the daily themes on our calendar. Thanks to our Student Lighthouse Team for their collaboration on this project! We would also like to remind you about two very special events happening on Thursday, December12th. Join us in the morning for our Briggs Family Breakfast from 7:30-8:30am. Then join us again in the HS Gym at 9:30am for our Winter Holiday Concert. We can't wait to see you all there! We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and break! We look forward to seeing students back on Monday, December 2nd.

We had a great time celebrating Halloween with a staff costume contest. All middle school students and family of middle school students are invited to attend a fall fundraiser tonight at the Middle School to support our iJAG program. Please join in on the fall fun tonight at the Middle School.

The Booster Club is organizing a state send-off for Izzy Hardin on Thursday, October 31st, at 9:40 a.m. Thank you for helping make this a memorable moment for Izzy and showing support from our entire school community.

A reminder that MCSD has a 1:30 pm early out today, Thursday, October 17th for conferences and no school on Friday, October 18th. Please reach out to your student's buildings if you have any questions about conferences for today. Thank You!

Fall in Iowa means daily temps that range from heavy jackets in the morning to tanks and tees by the afternoon! It also means that our Lost & Found is growing. All of the found items are displayed on a table in our main hallway over P/T Conferences. See something that belongs to your student? Have them stop by the table to pick it up or pick it up when you’re in the building for our Lunch with Loved Ones event or P/T Conferences.
