Hello Cardinal Families, We hope that you have enjoyed this beautiful weather throughout the three day weekend and students are excited for another week to learn and connect. We would like to share a few important bits of information as we begin the short week ahead. * This week we will begin our FASTbridge testing with students to determine their benchmark levels in reading and math for the fall. These are screeners that are used to help us determine the specific needs of all students and plan accordingly. We ask that you help your child prepare for this assessment by ensuring they are well rested and have a good breakfast to start the day! * This week we will recognize our 2nd grade "Leaders of the Week" during the all school assembly on Wednesday. Be sure to check out the video that will be shared that afternoon. * Friday, September 6th, we encourage all students to support their favorite Iowa teams as we look forward to the Iowa Vs. Iowa State matchup on Saturday! * Homecoming 2024 is on Friday, September 20th. The theme is Neon Lights: The Future will be Bright - Let's get a Victory! Stay tuned for fun dress up days that week to cheer on our Cardinals!

Maquoketa School District has implemented an online ticketing system for ALL activities starting with our home football game on Aug 30th, 2024. Follow the attached QR code to purchase individual game/activity tickets or season passes. Spectators will need to purchase tickets via Bound for all home events and away conference games. If using cash, no change will be given at home events.

Join us for a Facilities Committee meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11th from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm at the Maquoketa Middle School cafeteria. Highlights will include a panel discussion regarding 5th grade location, updated plans of the addition to Briggs Elementary based on committee feedback and a tour of the Middle School. All community members and staff are welcome to attend.

Mrs.Graham's class had a great last day of school! We are Too Cool for 1st grade Peace Out!!

Mrs. Johnson's class finished off their last day of 2nd grade with a real life pet coming for our "Pet Show" that went along with our read aloud.

The 2nd graders have taken on the leadership role of raising and lowering the flag and leading the Pledge of Allegiance over the intercom every day. Today we lowered the flag at the end of the day as a school and watched 2 of our 2nd grade leaders fold the flag. Thank you to Mrs. Wahl for helping them with this each and every day! ❤️🤍💙
