Mr. Shipper has done a fantastic job of sharing the importance of good sportsmanship as all PE students review these learning targets and practice through game play. Students set goals and are recognized for accomplishing these goals! Way to be a supportive team, Cardinals!

Hello Cardinal Elementary Families, This week we present to your our first addition of CWNK, Cardinals Weekly News & Knows. Please watch this video (Ihttps://youtu.be/eYmn0l8ugpc) to find out what our students are learning about in the coming week. Highlights include: -Dress Up days for the week -Fire Drill (Tuesday at 8:30) -Bus Evacuation Drill (Wednesday) -TK/K Leaders of the Week Announcement (Wednesday) -Parade on Friday at 2:00 One last reminder. For the parade we do take the buses down to main street and watch in front of MSB bank. If you plan to take your child home after the parade you will need to pick them up back at the school and sign them out with our secretary, Miss Kaitlyn. Hope you all have a great week! Hello Cardinal Elementary Families, Many of you have reached out to our staff regarding the "Rhyme Without Reason" dress-up day for next Tuesday during homecoming week. The idea for this day is that students/staff find a friend or group of friends that they can partner with to make two words that rhyme but don't make sense together. An example might be moon & spoon or bat & cat. While we see the fun this could be for older students we realize that it can be hard to coordinate for students our age. As an alternative you could plan out more of a mismatched outfit. Kinda like dressing without a rhyme or reason as to why the outfit was put together. Like a suit jacket top with sweatpants bottoms. Or a sports jersey with PJ pants. Can't wait to see all the fun outfits! Sara Bennis Cardinal Elementary Principal

It was an exciting battle at Cardinal Elementary as we challenged everyone to support their favorite team for the upcoming Iowa Vs. Iowa State game this Saturday. As you can see by the smiling faces, it was a win-win for all. Everyone enjoyed the friendly banter as we supported Iowa Sports. Regardless of the outcome of the game, we had fun!

Hello Cardinal Families, We hope that you have enjoyed this beautiful weather throughout the three day weekend and students are excited for another week to learn and connect. We would like to share a few important bits of information as we begin the short week ahead. * This week we will begin our FASTbridge testing with students to determine their benchmark levels in reading and math for the fall. These are screeners that are used to help us determine the specific needs of all students and plan accordingly. We ask that you help your child prepare for this assessment by ensuring they are well rested and have a good breakfast to start the day! * This week we will recognize our 2nd grade "Leaders of the Week" during the all school assembly on Wednesday. Be sure to check out the video that will be shared that afternoon. * Friday, September 6th, we encourage all students to support their favorite Iowa teams as we look forward to the Iowa Vs. Iowa State matchup on Saturday! * Homecoming 2024 is on Friday, September 20th. The theme is Neon Lights: The Future will be Bright - Let's get a Victory! Stay tuned for fun dress up days that week to cheer on our Cardinals!
