The Cardinal Elementary Staff is excited to greet customers at Copper Cardinal on Thursday, November 30 from 4:00-9:00 for a fundraiser event that will benefit the Leader in Me program at Cardinal Elementary. Any orders dine-in, carry-out or delivery will support the fundraiser.

Congratulations to Cardinal Sophomore, Cora Widel! Cora broke the school record scoring 38 points against the Western Dubuque Bobcats on Friday night. Way to go Cora,what an amazing accomplishment and what a great way to start the season!


Thank You to Chief Zeimet who came and shared his experience of being a police officer and the qualifications to be in law enforcement with students doing career research projects in Mrs. Manthei's Info Processing & Career Exploration class.



Mrs. Edward's research and technical writing students participated in speed interviewing. Students took turns being the interviewer and the interviewee. This activity was to prepare them for their upcoming mock interviews.





Daniel Hagen participated in the 2023 OPUS Honor Choir at Iowa State University. Daniel was selected to participate in the 7/8 Bass Choir which consists of 180 bass singers from across the state of Iowa. They rehearsed all day and gave a great concert. Great job Daniel!




Thank You to the class of '73 and '74 for spearheading the first Maquoketa Girls BB team and honoring our current players! It was so special to honor you and have you be part of the team! Congrats on 50 years of Maquoketa girls BB!



Help us celebrate the first girls basketball team in Maquoketa history on Friday, November 17th, during our home girls basketball games vs Western Dubuque. The original team members will be honored at halftime of our varsity girls game. We look forward to seeing the gym packed to help us celebrate 50 years of girls basketball at Maquoketa High School.

Today in Mr. McLaughlin's Biology Class, students created bubbles to represent the plasma membrane of the cell. The students explored various attributes involving the cell. The kids really enjoyed trying to make huge bubbles.

Congrats to our School Board for receiving the Team Achievement Award from the Iowa Association of School Boards for their dedication to learning as a board. This is a rare award for a full board to receive and we appreciate their service to our students, staff and families!
